Musical: Jonah ~ Reviews
"Willem van der Walt’s Jonah is a delightful musical freely based on the well-loved Biblical story. I loved every minute of it and warmly recommend it to any church group wishing to supplement its worship and to reach out to people searching for a more purposeful life. The music and lyrics are lively, upbeat and memorable. Young people will enjoy this gem, and will be challenged and stirred and they find themselves engaging with an ancient story in a new way."

"This play is an imaginative depiction of the story of Jonah, his conflict with the mission God gave him and his journey via the belly of the whale. The play is written creatively and is inspirational in its portrayal. The rhythmic music and clever pulsating choral sequence performed by the ‘Enzymes’ in the belly of the whale are particularly enchanting. The play ends almost sacredly with the enthralling song ‘Great and compassionate God’. It is a thoroughly uplifting play enjoyed by all who saw it performed.
The play was performed by the Northlink Drama at Tygerberg campus in order to raise funds for the Prison Ministry Beauty for Ashes in July, 2005."
